I am an intern with Campus Calm. I write articles and work with Campus Calm’s founder, Maria, on some of her current projects. Anyway, Maria asked me and the other intern, Kristen, to listen to an MP3 that she recorded for the site. The MP3 covers the 10 mindsets that students need to be happy and successful (and balanced) in school.
In the recording, Maria talks about Positive Thinking Magazine. Who knew there was a magazine just for positive thinking? The magazine has an interesting website full of articles on positive thinking and small ways to change your life.
Yesterday, I was looking at member profiles on our website, The Whole 9. I came across this one guy who wrote a funny story in his profile. I don’t know why, but it made me laugh out loud. This was the story:
“My first cousin still cracks up every time he remembers this one. But it’s not a lie. I’m the worst liar so I don’t even try. But this was something wrong. I mean – I stole something. So once upon a time…when we were about 13, and about a year or two into being full-on surf lunatics in New Jersey, we were up before dawn to go surfing and it was cold and dark so we stopped for coffee (our driver friend was old enough to drive) at the local convenience store. I’m not a morning person and I was too tired to even do that so I sat in the car while they went in for coffee and a Tastycake truck pulled up right next to us and the guy just runs in and leaves it all open because it’s dawn and it’s cold and dark and NOBODY is dumb enough to be up at that hour, and if they are, the last thing on anyone’s mind is cupcakes, right. Needless to say, when they got back to the car and we were 1/2 mile down the road, I had a surprise for them – a few boxes of the world’s finest cupcakes to go with the coffee. Classic.”
I thought, for some reason, that was really funny. I could even picture the story in my head, which made it even funnier. This is also funny.
